What is it?
Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) is an outpatient procedure that uses magnetic fields to activate underactive nerve cells in the brain associated with depression and mood disorders. Treatments are performed while you are awake, seated comfortably, and able to return to work, school, or your normal daily activities immediately afterward.
Most treatment plans involve sessions 5 days per week for approximately 6–7 weeks, although the exact schedule is individualized based on your condition and treatment response.
